Bipolar Disorder Survival Journal: Guided Prompts to Help You Understand, Track, and Manage Your Symptoms

If you have been diagnosed with bipolar disorder, or even if you suspect you have it, your extreme emotions can be frightening.

Description

I’ve been married to my husband for 15 years, and I’ve been through some of the most difficult and rewarding experiences of my life. Marcella Gucci is my name.

I started this journal because my husband has ADHD and bipolar disorder. In it, I describe the steps my husband and I took to help him get back on track so he can live a normal life.

Bipolar disorder is a lifelong battle, but it does not have to take over your life.

The majority of people have heard of bipolar disorder, a mental health condition characterized by manic episodes and significant bouts of sadness.

Bipolar II disorder differs from bipolar I disorder in that patients may never have a full manic episode, but may have periods of great energy and impulsiveness (hypomania), as well as melancholy and anxiety.

If you have been diagnosed with bipolar disorder, or even if you suspect you have it, your extreme emotions can be frightening. Fortunately, there are treatments that have been shown to work in the past and can help you relax.

This journal’s mindfulness-based exercises will assist you in regulating your emotions, tracking your progress, and eventually leading a happier and more productive life.

You will also learn important stress management skills, healthy decision-making, and problem-solving techniques.

But, as with anything else in life, you will get out what you put in. I am not a doctor, but I have worked with nearly every type of doctor or specialist in this field. I’ve just written down our real-life steps of what has worked for us, and I hope you can benefit from our experience.

“Yes. In my case, I am bipolar… To avoid the euphoric highs, I take medication. To keep the lows from getting too bad, I take medication. A sleeping tablet is what I use to help me get some shut-eye. I take the anti-anxiety medication. I despise taking medicines, yet they are necessary for my well-being & sanity.”
